Performance and Installationaround a conversation in the production of trauma between the patient and the performer-therapist. I worked with Butler’s famous idea of gender as a performative construction, the pathologization of LGBT desire in medical history, and homophobic violence. Video art and ink drawings were presented as part of an installation.

The project was a reflection on different concepts:

  • Crip Theory: as a reclaiming of other bodies in art.

  • The use of prosthetics as sculptural elements.

  • Passing: In the context of gender, this applies to a transgender individual who is generally perceived as cisgender.

  • Butch/Femme: the personification of hegemonic masculinities and femininities to play with them.

  • Crossdressing

  • The concept of Haunted: meaning the body as a canvas where memories, trauma, and repression are marked.

  • Intersexuality: pathologized by medical science as hermaphroditism.

Posttrauma also reflects on the idea of strangeness, interference, interruption, and conflict.
